The Common Gray can be found in most parts of North America. The color of its wings varies from medium gray to light yellowish-gray with heavy dark gray or black mottling. The larvae are light brown and mimic twigs. They are known to feed on apple, ash, clover, elm, pear, poplar, and willow.
